9/11 FAMILIES TO HOLD EVENT AT UNIVERSITY OF HARTFORD TO THROW NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT ON COLLAPSE OF WORLD TRADE CENTER BUILDING 7 AND KICK OFF NEW TV AD CAMPAIGN CALLING FOR FRESH INVESTIGATION

Panel of Speakers to Include Journalists, Academics, Architects, Engineers

HARTFORD, CT — On Saturday, March 26, 2011, the University of Hartford’s Millard Auditorium will be the location for a day-long event, INVESTIGATE BUILDING 7 – A Call to Reexamine the Most Important Event of Our Time, featuring a notable assembly of journalists, academics, architects, and engineers designed to spark a new investigation into the collapse of Building 7, the 47-story tower at the World Trade Center site that fell nearly seven hours after the Twin Towers and was not hit by an airplane.

The conference also will kick off the second phase of an escalating viral video, fundraising, and commercial TV campaign, begun last September, that uses a 30-second commercial to raise awareness of the issue. The first spot, launched under the campaign title BuildingWhat.org, raised $100,000 and was seen widely around New York City in November. The new 30-second spot will be unveiled at the conference and will be part of a campaign re-branding to be announced at that time.

Featured speakers at the conference will include author Craig Unger, New York University Professor Mark Crispin Miller, Professor Graeme MacQueen, Attorney William Pepper, journalist Leslie Griffith, author Dick Russell, architect Richard Gage, mechanical engineer Tony Szamboti, Underwriters Laboratories Whistleblower Kevin Ryan, and Bob McIlvaine and Manny Badillo, who lost family members on September 11.

INVESTIGATE BUILDING 7 will begin at 9:30 a.m. with opening remarks and a series of speeches. Following a lunch break will be “The Case for a New Building 7 Investigation” from 1 to 3:45 p.m. and “Failure to Report,” about media resistance to critically reporting the collapse of Building 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. After a dinner break, the conference resumes with an address, “9/11: Blueprint For Truth” with architect Richard Gage from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. A final Q&A session with all the speakers will run from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The goal of the conference and the new commercial is to raise awareness of the free-fall collapse of Building 7; to reveal that over 1,400 national architects and engineers dispute the official 2008 National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report attributing the collapse to fire, calling it “physically impossible”; and to bring the public to call upon the New York City Council to impanel a new investigation.

The new round of exposure and discussion is designed to open the topic and event to scrutiny by a new level of self-identified reasonable people to view the evidence for themselves. After seeing the first commercial, for instance, Fox News Channel journalist Geraldo Rivera – on his show, “Geraldo At Large,” and on the Fox Business Network program “Freedom Watch” with Judge Andrew Napolitano – shared with viewers his own shift in perception based on the video evidence and interviews with engineer Tony Szamboti and family member Bob McIlvaine.
